    After a long career, mainly in IT, I provided business support functions to a Psychology Practice.  The business had the potential for significant growth, so a sophisticated network based on a Microsoft Small Business Server was installed.  This gave an immediate increase in reliability and function.  A few years later I reached the point where I had two goals.  One to retire and the other to see the Practice have a stable base to handle at least the next two years growth.

    While another investment in a self-managed Server was possible, the options provided by ABL IT made the recommendation to hand the IT functions to them very attractive.  This is because the load and skills needed to handle complex Information Systems is shared amongst many clients. Also the backup and recovery offered by the more sophisticated systems has a strong client benefit.  Businesses that haven’t had a serious Information Systems problem rarely understand how damaging this can be, and therefore appreciate the benefits of very fast recovery.

    Another benefit is that the responsibility for keeping the systems up to date for hardware and software rests with ABL IT.  The skills they are able to deliver would not normally be available outside of large enterprises with their own in-house staff. I am now retired and am very pleased that my last working role has a good ending!
